Electric furnaces have always been 100% efficient. A properly working electric furnace is just as energy efficient as a new one. However, regular service is the only way to assure your unit is working properly. Maintaining clean filters is important too. You should change 1” filters once a month or quarterly. Just remember that a standard filter is there to protect the furnace, not clean the air. If you want cleaner air, a filter upgrade is necessary.
