Clean or change filters monthly, and maintain the system according to manufacturer’s instructions. Dirty components reduce airflow, which can damage your compressor and decrease performance. Clean outdoor coils and occasionally turn off power to the fan and clean it; remove vegetation from around the unit; clean the supply and return registers; and keep all indoor registers open.
